The Expresso AG50s navigation and golf GPS combo is no longer being made and the very few reviews we saw didn’t give us any reason to recommend this device. Let us know if you have had any good or bad experiences with it.

Expresso AG50s User Rating: 4.00 Stars 4.00 out of 5 (7 reviews)

Score compiled from multiple sources.

Both multi-function models (the Expresso AG50 and the AG1) can act as road navigation GPS devices, golf GPS devices and even portable media players. From a golf perspective, one of the biggest complaints about the AG1 was its speed. The new Expresso AG50 has a swiss-made 50-channel receiver that should take care of those delays. Additionally, the AG50 has a larger and brighter LCD touch screen and besides being preloaded with U.S. and Canadian golf courses, this version includes Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Ireland. The best part about this unit may be the price. It’s less than $200 even before it goes on sale.

  1. is there any way to see which courses are covered with the Expesso ag50

    • Golf Rangefinder Shop says

Hi Dave. ESN is no longer making the AG50 and their website doesn’t give much indication that they are supporting it. However the course database is powered by iGolf (http://www.igolf.com/course/advanced_search.html), so that should give you an indication of what courses are available. You can also call ESN at (866) 691-1350. I just don’t think they had much success with this model and I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it.

  2. Canadian courses covered

    • Golf Rangefinder Shop says

iGolf includes Canadian courses in the database, but I’m not sure if they are preloaded and/or whether the support is there now to updated the device.

  3. I purchased the AG1 3/4 years ago. The device worked find until last year, at that time I lost all golfing information. I ESN and they updated my device with AG50 software. The golfing portion of the device works fine . The auto navigation does not seem to have a way to update its software, as to new roads/streets. If you know of one please let me know.

Hi Bruce. I don’t know of any other golf specific GPS that will do both golf and maps. A smartphone or an Apple Watch can do both, but honestly, I think buying separate devices is probably the way to go.

  4. hi I bought the ag50s in 2011 and cannot update the satnav.i have tried igolf navevo navteq on-pin gps systems and more.i have not had a reply from any of them that shows you how interested they are in the consumers.regards fred

  5. Problem on my expresso AG1 after the latest igolf sync. embedd01 shows up as the only golf course. cannot find any answers.

  6. My battery in my AG50s Expresso is dying, can I replace the battery ? How do I remove the old battery?
This unit has been brilliant for golf courses in Australia still works but needs a new battery
