Our SkyCaddie Gimme Review will be available as soon as we get some user feedback. It’s a basic golf GPS with distance to the front, middle and back of every green in a large unit with big bold numbers. It looks very similar to the less expensive Izzo Swami 4000, which has no annual fees.

SkyCaddie’s new Sport Series devices offer a lower price point than previous SkyCaddie models, but SkyCaddie continues to require annual membership fees. They continue to market their GPS products as superior based upon “ground-corrected course maps”, however user reviews show that SkyCaddie users are not any more satisfied than users of golf GPS devices that don’t required a paid subscription.

SkyCaddie has some pretty big names in their advertisements, from Peter Jacobson and Natalie Gulbis to Hank Haney and Michael Breed. Maybe that’s why they need to charge annual fees, but we’re still not buying. Other golf GPS devices get better reviews and they don’t have extra fees.

    I bought the skycaddie gimme from USA and to my dissapointment there are no Zimbabwean courses mapped. I cant even map the courses manually.

    I just charged my Gimme and I can’t turn it off. It’s been over an hour and is still lit up.

      Hi Mary,

      Press and hold the Left Soft Key until the GIMME powers down. It’s the one with this symbol on it.

    It always worked before that I held down the power button and the power went off but this time it did not. The lighted screen finally went out when the battery died.
