Take a look at our preview of Bushnell’s new GPS golf watch. (Our Bushnell neo+ Watch Review will be available after customer feedback begins to roll in.)

Bushnell neo+ GPS Golf Watch User Rating: 3.96 Stars 3.96 out of 5 (81 reviews)

Score compiled from multiple sources.

Our initial impression is that Bushnell saw what was working in the Garmin S1 Golf Watch and built their own version. The neo+ watch provides distances to the front, middle and back of the green and has a shot measuring feature like the S1. Bushnell’s biggest sales pitch seems to be that it has a much longer battery life than the S1 and 25,000 courses preloaded. If it were just those two watches in the race, that would be enough to give the edge to the Bushnell neo+ watch… but in 2012 the game changed….

Besides the Bushell neo+ golf watch, there are three other new golf watches hitting the market this year, the Garmin S3, the Expresso WR62 and the MOTOACTV Golf Edition. All of them provide distance information to alternate targets and hazards, which seems like a very good thing. We are qualifying this statement for now, because we know that the major factor the high Garmin S1 ratings, was it’s simplicity and convenience. Any time you add more features, you’re going to lose some of the simplicity. Only user feedback will let us know how this really plays out.

The problem for Bushnell is that people who want ultimate simplicity are probably going to go with something that’s tried and true, like the Garmin S1, especially since they cost about the same. The longer battery life may make a difference to some, but will that be enough?

The Bushnell Yardage Pro XGC+ was introduced in October 2010, but there still are only a small number of user reviews. Initially, the Bushnell XGC+ was a good value for the features it offered, but given today there are models with higher ratings that are competitive in price and features. Check our “Best GPS for Golf” breakdown to find the one best suited to your needs.

Bushnell Yardage Pro XGC+ User Rating: 3.65 Stars 3.65 out of 5 (17 reviews)

Score compiled from multiple sources.

The Bushnell XGC+ offers one of lowest prices for a GPS device with full hole views and NO membership fees. There is a small caveat to the membership fees issue… Basically, Bushnell includes a one year membership to iGolf so you can download course maps and course updates. After the first year, you don’t have to pay membership fees unless you want to download additional courses with full maps. The course maps you already have on your XGC+ will remain there. If you do decide you need more course maps, iGolf annual membership fees have typically been very low.

The Bushnell XGC+ Plus comes preloaded with basic information to over 16,000 courses. That means you can open up the box when it arrives and take it out to play without syncing it with your computer. Even better than that, it means that you can show up at a course when you haven’t had time to download it and still benefit from having your Bushnell GPS with you. Within 45 days of starting up the XGC+ for the first time, you’ll need to register it on your computer. You can then select up to 50 golf courses to download with full maps to store on your unit. Whenever you sync your device, any updates that have been made to any courses, will be downloaded. The Bushnell XGC+ also includes scorecard, statistics and shot measuring features.

Conclusion: if you’re on a tight budget and you want more than just numbers on the display, this may be the golf GPS for you. If you have a bigger budget, we suggest checking out the GolfBuddy World.

We’ll have the 2018 Bushnell Hybrid Rangefinder Review soon, but for now check it out!

Bushnell Hybrid User Rating: 4.51 Stars 4.51 out of 5 (519 reviews)

Score compiled from multiple sources.

Thank you Bushnell for bringing back the GPS/Laser Hybrid Rangefinder. We LOVE the features you have added since your previous version!

This laser rangefinder has Pinseeker with Jolt making it quick and easy to tell when you are locked onto the flag. Of course we love that the GPS has distances to hazards, but the thing we love most about the GPS… The distances to the front and back of the green show up in the the laser display! Now when you’re looking at the exact distance to the pin, you can also see the distance to the front and back of the green at the same time.

We also love there is one battery for the laser a separate rechargeable battery for the GPS. On top of all of this, there is an App for updating golf courses and seeing full-screen graphics and flyovers of the holes. We think Bushnell has really outdone themselves on the 2018 Bushnell Hybrid Rangefinder!

Bushnell neo+ User Rating: 4.30 Stars 4.30 out of 5 (316 reviews)

Score compiled from multiple sources.

For our Bushnell Neo+ Review, we took notes on dozens of reviews from everyday users. By far the most common theme of all the reviews was the ease of use of the Bushnell neo+. Accuracy, price and size were also common praises of this small GPS rangefinder. In total, about 89% of all comments noted were positive and of the few negative comments, we didn’t think any were “deal breakers”, but take a look for yourself at our list of most mentioned pros and cons below.

Notes about the Bushnell neo+ GPS rangefinder:

The neo+ is preloaded with front, center, and back of the green distances, plus distances to key hazards for courses throughout the United States and Canada. You can also add custom points to any hole. International courses can be download manually. The neo+ also features a high resolution screen, auto-course recognition, auto-hole advance and large text menus. Although it comes preloaded and there are no fees, it does require that you hook it up to your computer and register it within 45 days of its first GPS fix. At that time, it will update the device with the latest golf course information.

  • No hole views or color screen (not a complaint as much as a mention)
  • Size is small, which is easier to lose
  • Courses outside of U.S. & Canada must be downloaded
