The Breaking 80 Max 400 gets a lot of really great reviews from users who can’t believe they get the same accuracy as other laser rangefinders for significantly less money. If there’s a down side, it’s that some users report struggling to acquire distance to the right target. It’s a low percentage, but slightly higher than on more expensive rangefinders.

I have had a Breaking 80 max 400 for about a year. It worked great last year. I found it accurate in distance measurement and very helpful in making club selection. However, this year, when I tried to use it all I get is —- yds or —- mts when I try to acquire the pin. No numerical distance is shown. If you know a quick fix for this please pass it along. the instructions which accompanied the unit do not address this problem.

Try taking out the battery and then pressing and holding the power or scan button for 10 seconds. Then put in a new battery. Let me know if this helps.

I have the same problem after about a year. Only use it about 2 times a month. All of the small lines don’t show even with a new $18 battery. I do get the “1 o’clock” short line and it will sometimes read a ,<20 yard distance. I tried the battery out suggestion above.
