  • The Bushnell Z6 has Vivid Display Technology (bright red) which makes seeing the display easier in all lighting conditions. The V2 has the a monochrome LCD.
  • Bushnell V2 vs Z6

  • The Bushnell Z6 has a 6x magnification, where the V2 only has 5x.
  • The Z6 is accurate to 1/10 of a yard under 125 yards, where the Bushnell V2 is within one yard.
  • The Z6 can get distances up to 1,300 yards and the V2 up to 1,000 yards. Not sure who would need that information!
  • The Bushnell Z6 has E.S.P which is Extreme, Speed, Precision. Presumably, this makes it more likely to lock on to the right target more quickly than the V2.
  • The Z6 has an adjustable dioptor setting, which is not a feature of the Bushnell V2.
  • The Z6 appears to have more protection from the rubber armored metal housing.
  • The Bushnell Z6 has a premium lens coating which is supposed to improve the optical quality
  • Although both are rainproof, the Z6 is IPX7 rated, which means you can leave it in a puddle for up to a half hour

Top 10 Reasons to Use a Laser Golf Rangefinder

Here is our list of the top reasons to use a laser golf rangefinder or GPS.

Golf sprinkler head yardage marker DanPerry.com on Flickr

  1. To speed up play, so you’re not always searching for yardage markers
  2. So you will know your exact distance to the target every time
  3. Knowing the exact distance you are from the target, will help you learn more about how far you really hit it, which will definitely help you choose the right club
  4. When in unfamiliar territory on a golf course, a golf rangefinder can give you distance to targets that will help you avoid mistakes. For instance on the tee shot of a dogleg, you can use the laser to get distance to a tree on the far side of the corner, so you know how much of the corner to cut or what club to use for a layup.
  5. To impress your golf buddies
  6. To see how far you have to fly to carry a hazard or even a greenside bunker
  7. Because the pros use laser
  8. Because the magnification in a laser rangefinder gives you a better look at what’s ahead. This is definitely helpful on golf courses you haven’t played before.
  9. Because the magnification makes it easier to admire a shot hit close to the pin from far, far away.
  10. Because you’ve never met a gadget you didn’t love!

If you use a laser rangefinder, you know it can be a hassle trying to keep track of it in the golf cart. To make sure it doesn’t get damaged, you end up leaving it in the case and that just slows you down when you need a yardage.

The I’m Caddie golf GPS may be the most basic golf GPS device on the market.  We couldn’t find much feedback for this little unit, but the ratings are a little too low for us to recommend it.

I'm Caddie User Rating: 3.20 Stars 3.20 out of 5 (21 reviews)

Score compiled from multiple sources.

What makes the I’m Caddie different? First of all, there is no screen. Your distance to the center of the green will be delivered by a male or female voice – your choice. You won’t get distances to hazards or even to the front and back of the green. It will however, measure your shot length. We know there are plenty of golfers out there who really only want that distance to the middle of the green and no hassles from their golf GPS and who knows, this may be the ticket.

One little note: Sometimes this device is referred to as “I Am Caddie”.
