Our Bushnell Tour V3 Review will give you an in-depth look at all the pros and cons that were consistently mentioned by owners. The results were the best we’ve ever seen in a laser rangefinder, so if you consider yourself a typical user, you would probably do well to end your research right here.

Bushnell Tour V3 Standard User Rating: 4.72 Stars 4.72 out of 5 (895 reviews)

Score compiled from multiple sources.

The price is right and the performance is outstanding. The only rangefinders we rank higher are quite a bit more expensive and have features that appeal to golfers who compete in tournaments and golfers who may need a little additional assistance in using or reading the display on a rangefinder.

Although other similarly priced rangefinders have slightly higher magnification, we didn’t come across any users who complained about having trouble picking up the target. In fact the two top mentions in the feedback we reviewed were the accuracy and the ease of acquiring distances. Take a look at our full list below.

Our Leupold GX-1i Review took into account every comment from every single user review we could find… And what we found is yet another solid performer in the Leupold line of golf rangefinders.

Leupold GX-1i User Rating: 4.61 Stars 4.61 out of 5 (18 reviews)

Score compiled from multiple sources.

The small size, accuracy and ease of use were mentioned significantly more than anything else. There was only one all-out negative review and that was from an owner with a defective unit. All other reviews were positive and there were scarce mentions of anything negative. Although a couple of users mentioned that the size of the unit did make it a little harder to hold steady. Even so, they both gave the unit high marks.

Leupold GX-4 (slope) User Rating: 4.48 Stars 4.48 out of 5 (23 reviews)

Score compiled from multiple sources.

Leupold put some useful bells and whistles on the GX-4, but if you’re looking for a rangefinder to use in competition, this one is not legal for tournament play. Leupold tried to give golfers the best of both worlds with this rangefinder, by adding a Smart Key Faceplate that could be removed to disengage features that make the GX-4 legal. The USGA did not approve Leupold’s efforts, but hopefully, your golf buddies will let you get by with it.

The Leupold GX-4 measures slope (elevation), as well as the temperature, and estimates how far a shot should actually play. It can even suggest a club based on information you have provided about the distance you hit your clubs. When you’re not competing, these extra features can really assist in helping you learn about your game.

If having the removable Smart Key Faceplate is not important, the Leupold GX-2 has very similar features and is quite a bit less expensive. However, the construction the GX-4 is rugged aluminum and it has a red OLED, which is very easy to read.

Although there are not a huge number of user reviews, here are the pros and cons we noticed showing up in the reviews.

Most Mentioned Pros (in order of mentions high to low):
  • Quality
  • Easy to read – red OLED
  • Club Selector
  • Aluminum construction
  • Slope
  • Protective case
  • Easy to Use
  • Rubberized grip
  • Compact
  • Easy setup
  • Smart Key Faceplate
  • TGR – True Golf Range uses altitude and temperature to estimate the distance that a shot will actually play
  • Solid battery compartment
  • Accuracy
Most Mentioned Cons (in order of mentions high to low):
  • Confusion at first glance – it takes a minute to figure out actual distance versus TGR. After you figure it out, it is no problem.

We’ll get our Laser Link Switch Review summary posted as soon users start giving some feedback. At first glance, we like the looks of the newest member of the Laser Link family. It merges the features of the QuickShot and the RedHot, giving the best of both worlds.

No Ratings Yet No Ratings Yet

The beauty of the original Laser Link QuickShot is that it can quickly and easily pick up distance to any flagstick with a prism on it. The handle on all Laser Link models make them a little easier for some users to handle. The problem was that the QuickShot was worthless on any golf course without prisms.

The Laser Link Red Hot added the ability to hit any visible target including flagsticks without prisms. It could still hit the prisms, but by being able to pick up trees and other targets, it lost some of its ease of use.

Enter the 2012 Laser Link Switch. Now when you’re playing a golf course with prisms, you’ll use QS mode most of the time, unless you need to quickly “Switch” over to RH mode to get the distance to a different target. QS mode should make it extremely easy to pick up the prism on the flags, but it sure is nice to have the option to get the distance to other target. If you visit a course with no prism, just stay in RH mode all day to get traditional laser measurements.

We wouldn’t recommend this to anyone whose home course does not have reflectors on the flagsticks. It is our opinion that other less expensive laser rangefinders that have magnification built-in would serve those players better. Check out our picks for best laser rangefinders.

Laser Link Pros
  • Long handle for easier grip
  • Doesn’t require removal of glasses or hats to use
  • QS mode makes it very easy to pick up flagsticks with prisms
  • RH mode makes it possible to get yardage to any visible target
  • Provides audible or vibration feedback for distance confirmation
Laser Link Cons
  • No magnification
  • A little pricey, but should last for years

Our Leupold GX-3 Review might just make you consider paying a few extra dollars for this highly rated laser golf rangefinder…

    Leupold GX-3 User Rating: 4.58 Stars 4.58 out of 5 (31 reviews)

    Score compiled from multiple sources.

Almost all of the reviews we read gave high praise to the ease of use and accuracy of the Leupold GX-3, but there were two additional comments that got our attention…

User after user commented on the high quality of this rangefinder, feeling it was rugged and would really last. The other frequently mentioned comment didn’t really surprise us, as we’ve seen it up close. The red OLED makes the the Leupold GX-3 very easy to read.

Although the GX-3 may be a little more expensive than some of its competitors, when you consider the years of use you may get from it, it might well be worth the extra expense.

Most Mentioned Pros (in order of mentions high to low):
    • Easy to use
    • Quality
    • Accuracy
    • Red OLED makes it easy to read
    • Compact size
    • Lightweight
    • Picks up yardages quickly
    • Scan mode makes it easy to to get your target
    • Improves your game
    • Prism lock feature makes it even easier to pick up flags with prisms and beeps when it gets it
    • Good Value
    • Legal for tournament play (Local rule must be in effect)
    • 6x magnification helps you see what lies ahead
    • Battery life
Most Mentioned Cons (in order of mentions high to low):
    • Difficult to hold steady for longer distances. (Only a few users had problems and it’s not clear if they were using Scan Mode or not)

We realize that’s not much of a list of cons. There were a few others, but we only list them if more than one user has mentioned a particular issue. Keep in mind however, that this is a much smaller pool of reviews than we have for many other laser rangefinders.
