“Leupold GX-1 Battery”
Buy It Now on
You won’t need to replace it often, but you definitely want to carry an extra battery for your Leupold GX-1 Rangefinder. Leupold says their rangefinders go 10,000 actuations on a single battery, so the cost of batteries over the life of you GX-1 is going to be pretty insignificant. I bet most golfers will not need a new battery for at least a year. One of the best parts of a laser rangefinder is that you never have to charge it and you can keep an extra battery in your golf bag, so when the time comes, you won’t miss a shot.
If you have another model in the Leupold GX Series of golf rangefinders, to date (through the GX-4i) they all take a CR2 battery.
When you see the battery indicator on you GX-1 get low (most of the black inside that icon will disappear), make sure you’ve got your replacement battery ready.
To insert a new battery, remove the battery cover (shown below) and remove the old battery. Insert your new CR-2 battery, negative terminal first, in to the battery compartment. Close battery cover and you’re good to go!
I have a LEUPOLD GX-3i DNA, while golfing, the back battery plate fell off on the golf course and I could not find it. Is there a way that I can purchase a battery cover. I searched hihg and low from the last point I used it to the next point. I could not find it. Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jeffrey. I’ve sent a tweet out to Leupold asking them about this. I’ll let you know if I hear back from them.
Hi Jeffrey. Leupold says “Have them call 1-800-LEUPOLD. A product expert should be able to help them out.” I believe that number converts to 1-800-538-7653. Let us know how it goes!
