You have to love the battery life in Bushnell golf rangefinders! You’re likely to get over a year out of your Bushnell Tour V3 battery. Still, I carry a spare in the bag just in case it dies without enough warning to get me through the round.

Bushnell V3 Low Battery IndicatorWhen the low battery indicator appears, you can replace the battery before it goes completely dead. The low battery indicator is visible in the display of your viewfinder as seen in the graphic below.

The Bushnell V3 battery is easy enough to replace even during a round of golf. There’s a little flip-up tab that unscrews the battery compartment. Take out the old one, put in the new one and you’re good to go!

The Bushnell V2 Patriot Pack is often around the same price as the Bushnell Tour V2 by itself, so a terrific value that also benefits the Folds of Honor Foundation. It comes with a case, a skin and an extra battery. The description on the Bushnell website indicates it also includes a Patriot Pack golf towel. The photo on the website shows a mount and some tees as well, but we’re not completely sure.

Instructions for replacing your GolfBuddy Platinum Battery
(Black Only)

  1. Golf Buddy Platinum Battery Cover diagramUsing a coin, turn the screw counter clockwise to loosen the battery cover.
  2. Remove the battery cover.
  3. Remove the old battery.
  4. Insert the new battery.
  5. Replace the battery cover.
  6. Turn the screw clockwise to lock the cover into place.

To charge the battery:

  1. Open the cover located on the bottom of the unit.
  2. Figure 1Connect the power adaptor to the wall outlet.
  3. Insert the connector into the unit, as shown here. A message on the screen will indicate that the battery is charging.

    4. Figure 2 Charging Times

  4. Once the battery is fully charged, a message stating “ Charging Complete” will appear on the screen
