If you are looking for a rangefinder or GPS waterproof case, you might want to consider the Clicgear Valuables Bag. It’s designed for the Clicgear golf push cart or any cart that uses 1″ handle tubing, but that’s no reason to limit its uses. It would work in the front of a golf cart or in the side of your bag and you can probably figure a way to hang it on the outside of your bag if you normally ride in a golf cart.

The case is made from waterproof nylon and has both a zipper and magnetic closure. The magnetic closure will come in handy for during your rounds when you don’t want to mess with a zipper. The zipper is great for between rounds.

IF you have a larger rangefinder, like the Bushnell 1600 or the Bushnell Pro 1M, this bag may be a little too tight, but most of today’s rangefinders will work well in this bag.

Note: Laser Link rangefinders will not fit this case.

Battery for Leupold GX-1 Rangefinder

You won’t need to replace it often, but you definitely want to carry an extra battery for your Leupold GX-1 Rangefinder. Leupold says their rangefinders go 10,000 actuations on a single battery, so the cost of batteries over the life of you GX-1 is going to be pretty insignificant. I bet most golfers will not need a new battery for at least a year. One of the best parts of a laser rangefinder is that you never have to charge it and you can keep an extra battery in your golf bag, so when the time comes, you won’t miss a shot.

If you have another model in the Leupold GX Series of golf rangefinders, to date (through the GX-4i) they all take a CR2 battery.

When you see the battery indicator on you GX-1 get low (most of the black inside that icon will disappear), make sure you’ve got your replacement battery ready.

To insert a new battery, remove the battery cover (shown below) and remove the old battery. Insert your new CR-2 battery, negative terminal first, in to the battery compartment. Close battery cover and you’re good to go!

There just are not a lot of choices out there securing your laser rangefinder to your golf cart. Fortunately, the Bushnell Cart Mount, works on most golf carts.

Bushnell Cart Mount Features
  • Fits all Bushnell Rangefinders (Except the Tour X and V4)
  • Works Great for Riding Carts and Push Carts
  • Easily clamps to your roof support post or your Push Cart
  • On and Off is Seconds (no tools required)
  • Latches is place so it will not bounce out.

If you use a laser rangefinder, you know it can be a hassle trying to keep track of it in the golf cart. To make sure it doesn’t get damaged, you end up leaving it in the case and that just slows you down when you need a yardage.

Note: Although Bushnell says it fits all carts, not all users had luck on all carts.
