Best Golf Watch
Garmin Approach S10 - Read Full Review

The Garmin Approach S10 is the one we've been waiting for! It's small, lightweight, and simple to use. It doesn't try to be a multi-sport watch or a smartwatch. It puts the focus squarely on golf. On the main screen, you will see distances to the front, middle, and back of the green, plus the hole number and par. The shape of the green is also right there on the same screen. Many golfers will never even need to touch the watch after starting a round. If you need hazard information, it's one screen away. You can also keep score on this watch and upload your scores to Garmin Express so your playing history is always available. Although this golf watch has all the features most golfers want, for those looking for stats or hole views, Garmin has other golf watches you will want to check out.

Bushnell Ion 2 - Read Full Review

The Bushnell iON 2 replaces the Bushnell Neo iON. Although they have dropped the "Neo", they haven't changed the watch all that much. That said, the addition of Bluetooth and automatic updating of golf courses is a significant improvement of an already solid golf watch. The other change is that the watch band is reversible. With the Bushnell iON 2, you get distances to the front, middle, and back of every green plus up to four hazards and layups per hole. As with almost all golf GPS devices, you can measure shot distance with the iON 2. The battery can last up to 3 rounds or 12 hours. The Bushnell smartphone app also provides hole layouts with distance and flyovers. You cannot keep score or track your stats, but it does track your steps. We think it's main competition is the Garmin S10.

GolfBuddy Voice 2 - Read Full Review

GolfBuddy just keeps building on a winning theme. The GolfBuddy Voice 2 claims 14 hours of battery life. That's four hours more than the GolfBuddy VS4! It's water resistant, has the choice of male or female voice, and of course provides distances to the front, middle, and back of the green. It's available in three different colors as well. The wristband can be ordered separately on Amazon.

Garmin Approach X40 - Read Full Review

We love Garmin golf watches and we love Garmin fitness bands, so we find the Garmin X40 band very exciting. Golf features include distance to the front, middle, and back of every green, plus hazard distances. You can see the shape of the green and manually adjust the pin position. AutoShot tracking measures and records your shot distances automatically. It has a scorecard and stat-tracking. Activity tracking shows steps, distance, calories burned, heart rate and activity intensity. If that's not enough, you can get notifications from your smartphone.

GolfBuddy Voice X - Read Full Review

The GolfBuddy Voice line has been a huge success from the beginning. The VoiceX is the latest in this line and has a few nice upgrades from its predecessor the GolfBuddy Voice 2. The most notable improvement is that it adds Bluetooth connectivity to your smartphone for automatic updates to the golf course you're playing when you enter golf mode. The screen is a little larger and it has a Big Numbers mode and manual pin placement capability. It also adds a fairly detailed GPS activity tracker for runners and walkers. It may sacrifice some battery life for the extra features, but should still easily get 2 full rounds. A watchband is available separately.

I’ve seen many reviews claiming these great things about Garmin S10, S20 and Vivoactive3. In terms of their Golf functionality I can tell you first hand they are not accurate at all. I tested them against a Garmin S3 and a Skycaddie SGX (most accurate by the way) and my S20 and Vivoactive3 were consistently short anywhere from 15-25 yards. I did these test on 3 different golf courses that I golf all the time and the results were always the same. Garmin support simply gives me a lame response about updates, GPS locations, etc…I might buy into that if I wasn’t actually comparing it to one of their own older products the S3 which displays the same distance as the SkyCaddie. Something is wrong with the new models and the all in ones just don’t measure up. I’m on the hunt for an old S3,S4 or S6.

  4. I need a new watch band for my neo xs rangefinder.

Sorry to say I’ve not been able to find a replacement band for the Neo XS.
